Artificial intelligence (AI) streamlines our work downstream by facilitating research, data collection and analysis, programming, optimized writing, multilingual translation, image synthesis, and more. It also provides upstream support, including reference for the creative process, suggestions for multiple perspectives, and direct transformation of text into PPT or short films. AI has the ability to learn from data input by all humans, enabling it to find repeated patterns and evolve continuously. People often inquire about the earth-shattering impact that AI will have on their roles as coaches or designers. Some claim that AI cannot read the underlying meaning or emotional changes behind human body language and behavior. However, these are merely data analyses. We can discern human psychology and market trends in the same way. From upstream to downstream and from downstream to upstream, the scope of work left for humans is becoming increasingly narrow. Undoubtedly, AI will cause many people to lose their jobs, but it will also create many new jobs.
AI has a high IQ and knows everything about astronomy and geography. However, achieving wisdom intelligence (WQ) that inspires and influences people is a challenge. WQ is an element of personality development. Professor Linda Hill of Harvard University once said that leadership development is personality development. In short, to cooperate well with AI, we need to develop ourselves, raise self-awareness, strengthen the development potential of the team behind the scenes, value spiritual life, become leaders with integrity and empathy, and take on leadership and decision-making tasks that AI cannot execute. We should view AI as a member of the team, even though it has some abilities that surpass those of ordinary people.
In the future, we must maintain a clear vision to cooperate with AI and create greater value. Otherwise, we may get lost in the powerful capabilities of AI and lose ourselves. The future society needs more leaders who build stages for their teams, bring out the strengths of each member, and encourage, reinforce, coach, lead, and make decisions from behind the scenes.
The development of a positive personality is the foundation of leadership development. AI does not have a clear vision but provides meaningful information and suggestions to humans after analyzing data. It also needs the guidance of leaders to realize its maximum potential. AI is a new member of our team, and we must welcome it.
