The Magical Writing Process
Today is a momentous day - the second book of my life has passed its final approval and is now ready for printing! It has been a 200% challenge to have my book published by Tsinghua University Press. Years of thinking, layers of sweat and tears, countless sleepless nights and headache painkillers - all have led to this moment. As a visual thinker, it took uncountable cycles of losing consciousness and waking up to process my book, with its 150,000 words.
Many of my friends have advised me that fewer and fewer people write physical books these days. However, I am obsessed with books - the smell of paper, the freedom to scribble in them at will - it cannot be replaced by online writing.
What is this book for? It represents a life stage, an outlet for my intuitive explosion, and the persistence not to let my experiences, grievances, failures, and successes be buried in the soil with me.
As I write this blog, my heart is pounding, and my breath is short - just like the moment when I wrote the first word ten years ago. Today is a special day that I want to record and share with you, my dear friends.
Love.
David
