DT, the former shareholder of a top 5 global international architectural design company and a design thinking results coach, specializes in solving wicked business challenges for enterprises.
DT is widely recognized as a thought leader in the design world. Over the past two decades, he has successfully driven the business evolution through the power of using the design thinking process with clients and designers in various scenarios, a skill set acknowledged by the business world as the most valuable design thinking ability in navigating the ever-changing market. DT believes that you must utilize new thinking methods if you want to possess something new. He is the author of "The Five Missing Lessons in China Design," published by Tsinghua University Press. In China, I have been referred to as Teacher Xu or Master Xu, but I prefer if you simply call me DT. Throughout my life, I have encountered challenges such as bullying, moments of vulnerability, business downturns, terminated contracts, financial difficulties, feelings of being lost, and the loss of loved ones. Despite these obstacles, I have persevered and emerged even stronger.
I've faced my fair share of challenges in life and business - from business slumps and financial difficulties to losing loved ones and being terminated from clients. But through it all, I've learned to find opportunities in mistakes, challenge my own vulnerability, and persevere. I believe that failure experiences can strengthen team relationships and corporate culture and that passion is the key to eating fear and discouragement for breakfast.
During my college years, an unexpected experience in psychological counseling significantly boosted my creativity, leading to unforeseen advancements such as winning scholarships, being interviewed on television, winning an open design competition, graduating with commendation and so forth. Another pivotal moment was when I delved into coaching, which helped me conquer years of fear during tennis matches and remarkably improve my skills. Overall, my life saw unprecedented progress. Therefore, I wish to share this magical journey with people. Do not let adversity or self-imposed limitations defeat you; you will be amazed at discovering your own potential.

I've had the privilege of meeting billionaires, design elites, and celebrities throughout my career. Through dialogue and understanding, I've realized that they face the same challenges as the rest of us, such as wanting someone to tell them the hard truths, craving a coach who pushes them to think bigger and needing someone real, not someone trying to entertain them.
As an introvert, I value other people's perspectives and am naturally observant, listening, and intuitive. While my energy comes from being alone, I've given many large public speeches over the past 20 years to express creative thoughts - and I feel fulfilled by it.

Over the past 33 years, what has motivated me the most isn't creative projects but the moments of encountering clients and designers from diverse regions, immersing myself in various cultures, and engaging in conversations with billionaires. These experiences have spurred significant personal transformations, redirecting my creativity towards the "People Business, " collaboratively shaping each individual's unique strengths and serving them in realizing their dreams through provoking conversations and design thinking.
Why choose only 13 proteges? This initiative originated in 2022 to gradually pass on my accumulated coaching journey to them over 13 years by the time I reach 70 to ensure its continuation as an additional societal resource for individuals facing challenges.
However, this isn't the end goal. I am also organizing a team of volunteer designers to aid in designing better communities in China - this isn't merely a dream but a feasible objective. We will rally the necessary funds to support this endeavor.
What qualifications are required to participate in the program? The 8/2 Rule: 80% being in the right place and time, 20% passion.
